It’s been a while. We’ve been busy. Full disclosure, we’ve been wondering what the future holds for street wear in South Africa.
We’ve had our doubts. Independent brands in independent shops just don’t have the reach we need to thrive.
It became clear that the divide between national retailers and independent brands needed to be bridged, and so brick by brick we started building a relationship with Sportscene - the only chain we felt connected with our values.
We got there. Sportscene is selling its first local South African independent brand in multiple locations, ever. We are the first, we hope, of many. South African design talent is world class but we need space to showcase our products or else we stay stuck in exclusive little pockets while multi-national brands that don’t invest in our culture, swoop the sales.
And so, without further delay;
Our SS 19 capsule takes its inspiration from the classic isometric video game Marble Madness and its 1984 era bold primary palette. Collaborating with our homey @boetaphyf once again on the graphics
It is available at select Sportscene stores (Sandton City Mall, V&A Waterfront, Menlyn Mall, Canal Walk, Goldfields Mall, Eastgate Mall, Gateway Mall, Midlands Mall, Greenacres Mall) as of today.
